Charles Harrison “Pompa”A San Antonian artist. He has an associates in fine arts and a liberal arts from San Antonio College, and has over 30 years of experience (with over 300 exhibitions and installations at public and private community events) creating and exhibiting his vibrantly colorful and multi-dimensional paintings, sculptures, book illustrations, pottery, music, and videos in galleries, museums, businesses and large public events and festivals. In addition to Pompa’s paintings, he is known in South Texas for his massive and colorful public light sculptures. Highlights include sculptures in the City of San Antonio’s “Luminaria Arts” Festivals (2008, 2013, 2015, and 2022), and Dia De Los Muertos events downtown since their inceptions in 2013-2024. He created an engaging public installation of over 50 free-standing “Munetas” (life size figurines half doll half piñata) the La Guadalupe Cultural Arts, annual “La Gloria Arts Festival” in 2009, and over 100 “skylight clouds” for the Cancer Society’s Annual Meeting at Hemisfair Park. Pompa exhibited in numerous solo and collective shows in Mexico, Texas, Arizona, France and Spain, with collections globally. Pompa wants to INSPIRE--- I promote the culture, folklore and the creative process. The art work should be fun, whimsical, and vibrant. My art work is contemporary, busy and mysterious. My Murals, paintings, drawings, photography, designs, and massive light sculpture installations, are made for the public. My Art work has been exhibited in private exhibitions, businesses, events, and festivals with local, state, national and international community partners (including non-profit organizations) to over a million general public/families and children of ALL ages!
