I started drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil at the age of 3. My mother told me that they found out art kept me from bothering them. Then, in Kindergarten I started playing w/ watercolors provided by my teachers, they also discovered that art can keep me from bothering them and other students. I was 14, a high school sophomore, when I got the opportunity to first use acrylic paints after 3 weeks of fighting the school (almost got myself expelled or suspended) to allow me to be in the arts, carpentry, eletricity & building for Home Economics course which at that time was strictly for boys only. As a girl, they urged me to stay in cooking, homemaking, dressmaking and gardening for Home Economics course. I love all that, however, I knew then that I had to be in strictly for the boys Home Economics course. Against all odds, I got in! I am forever grateful to my art teacher, Mr. Rowen Lipardo, he gave me a chance and allowed me to be in his class as it truly was part of my root foundation in developing my talent in arts. Artist Statement of Work

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

My art is who I am and how I perceive the world. Art is my way of cultural, social, spiritual, emotional, mental and visual expression as well as to capture & share experiences, beliefs, knowledge, wisdom, message, and to influence through a mixture of beautiful colors & juxtaposition of light & dark.  I am a variety artist. I create abstract, impressionist, realist, contemporary arts--just to mention a few. I also use different mediums; oil/acrylic paints, watercolors, ink, pencils, pastels, etc...while simultaneously using/exploring/discovering different tools, styles & techniques. I can be intentional with my artwork and also spontaneous to allowing my creativity to freely flow, discover and execute.

As an artist, I am inspired by the world's greatest artists in the history, from Renaissance to modern era. My three most favorite artists are Rafaello Sanzio da Urbino, an artist during the Renaissance period and the architect of the High Renaissance, Oscar-Claude Monet, the founder of impressionistic painting, and Paul Cezanne, the father of modern arts. Most of my art works are combination of these 3 artists' influence and style. I aim to share my talents to preserve and promote cultures and history, create significant arts that ought to be remembered and valued for generations, and to mentor and inspire young, aspiring artists.
