Artist Statement of Work

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

Sabine Senft is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice bridges installation, sculpture, public art, mixed media, photography and video, often bringing together symbolic elements in a single installation. She creates balanced yet poignant works that merge the personal with a wider socio-political narrative and reflect her ongoing investigation of individual and collective human agency.

My practice is not necessarily about me but instead encourages conversations about cross-cultural memory and individual and collective identity and agency. It is about how we impact the world and people around us. I firmly believe in engaging audiences, even if it is just by providing a space for reflection and promoting dialogue with oneself. My aim is to serve as a conduit for collective and individual self-awareness, from which healing and true change in the community can spread like a ripple effect.
