Sabrina San Miguel

Sabrina San Miguel was born and raised in Denver Heights on the East Side of San Antonio, Texas. After dropping out of high school at the age of 15 and having her first child at 18, she obtained a GED and eventually earned a BA in both English and Women’s Studies, and an MA in English from Texas A&M University-San Antonio, making her a first generation college and graduate student. San Miguel is a 2018 Macondo fellow, co-founder of Feliz zine, a 2020 Frontier Poetry Open finalist, and a single mother of 3 children. Laurie Ann Guerrero, former Texas Poet Laureate, has described her poetry as “gritty, unapologetically honest and reveals unspoken intimacies in the struggle for justice.” Her work appears in Latinx Writing & Rhetoric Studies, The Rumpus, Frontier Poetry and others.
