Sarah E. Garcia is a local artist who has lived in San Antonio for 18 years. She attended the University of Texas at San Antonio and the Art Academy. Her work includes painting and graphic art. Her artist career began in 2006 when she completed her first mural at a nursing home. Sarah finds her inspiration in being a public servant and the joy that pop culture brings her. In 2017, Sarah started “Space Holiday” where she designed and sold stickers at SA local markets, Brick at the Blue Star’s First Friday, and 1906’s Second Saturday. She has displayed her paintings and participated in local exhibitions at the Brick at the Blue Star.

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

My art style varies in realism, expressionism, and illustration. My inspiration comes from things and memories that I find to be beautiful. Memories of my grandma were behind a lot of my early work. I then began explore creating based on my love for music and pop culture. I am now looking create pieces that show people helping other people and looking to bring in detailed settings.
