We live in a world that discriminates against feeling certain emotions as it believes it needs to do in order to function. In general, vulnerability is still seen as a weakness rather than limitless strength. My music and my visual art are an act of breaking from these resistances I’ve adapted to as well to survive, and with each note, and artistic decision I make I break free and understand myself more and more. I want my art to allow others, and myself to feel vulnerable.

Artist Statement of Work

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

Everyone is trying to make sense of the external and their internal world. I decided a long time ago to look at the giants of the mind while not giving up being emotional. Storytelling became the way to access my unconscious while I was going through the most confusing times of my life. So I pay homage to my inner world through writing songs as they come out of me, with patience, hard work, and the intent to be vulnerable as I create. I started doing it just to heal pain from my life, but in time it turned into a way to access parts of myself that I didn't know existed, such as my ability to become confident, to persevere, to learn new things, and to see myself to newer, broader eyes.

It is my hope that the art I make also helps others with the same things my art has helped me with.
