Shannon Ingrassia-Murphy, better known as the artist Shannon Sionna, is bringing a new vibe to Neo Soul/Funk in Central Texas. She is a versatile singer, songwriter, and classically trained thespian born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She has been performing live since 2004, and later went on to be classically trained in vocal performance in 2006, chorale trained in 2012 and musical theatre trained in 2015. Shannon participated in the Our Part of Town Talent Show in San Antonio from 2006-2011 and won the semi finals twice. From 2013-2016 Shannon founded and became president of the FIRST A Capella group to reside at Texas State University and the legacy she left behind is still active to this day. 2016 is also when she dropped her first two solo singles on Soundcloud called “You don’t have to cry” and “I know”. After graduating Texas State University in winter 2017 with a degree in Theatre: Performance and Production, Shannon spent the next few years building her foundation and audience fan base by performing all around San Marcos and having a few shows in Austin and San Antonio. She dropped an EP called 20:16 in 2019, spent that year touring around the major cities of Texas performing her EP. She then released the single “Balance” which opened up opportunities to be featured on radio stations like 89.9FM in Austin and 91.7FM here in San Antonio. Since the pandemic, Shannon has released 3 new singles and is working on her sophomore EP to hopefully tour with soon.
