Suresh Pitamber, an artist based in San Antonio, Texas, is celebrated for his eclectic body of work. His artistic journey started at the age of 12 in Peshawar, Pakistan, where he taught himself how to paint. Moving to San Antonio in 1969, his creative passions broadened, delving into various mediums from landscapes to abstract art, always pushing the boundaries of traditional techniques.

Suresh’s portfolio captures the spirit of Texas through landscapes, western themes, intimate watercolors, and innovative multimedia modern art, creating tranquil and immersive experiences.

His talent has been recognized within the San Antonio art scene, earning him numerous awards including the prestigious honor of having his artwork featured on the NIOSA posters for both 2008 and 2009.

Artist Statement of Work

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

Art is my personal interpretation of ideas and emotions, expressed through various forms like painting, music, dance, or sculpture. For me, it's a way to achieve inner peace by pulling images from my subconscious and placing them onto canvas or paper. I began painting at the young age of 12. I would see pictures in my mind that I needed to express; I couldn't rest until those images were out on paper. Even after decades of creating art, I feel as if I have just begun.

I am proud to have been a founding member of SAY Sí here in San Antonio. Additionally, I was honored with the commission to design a poster for "A Night in Old San Antonio" for the years 2008 and 2009. San Antonio is a city I am proud to call home.
