A native Texan (mostly San Antonio), Tom Williams grew up on the likes of Hank Williams, Buddy Holly, Jerry Jeff Walker, Willie Nelson, and various folk singers, as well as classic pop & blues standards, and began playing as a boy after his dad taught him some basic guitar chords. He pulls from his broad musical interests when selecting numbers to play. His background and range of musical interests also show up in the songs that he writes. Often, about 30-40% of the songs in a regular set are Tom’s originals. He is comfortable performing on his own but enjoys the collaboration of making music with bandmates. Tom began playing at parties and coffee houses in the mid-90’s and continues to play regularly as the opportunities arise. He is accompanied by fellow bandmates on bass, drums and vocals  as “Texas Groove” when the situation supports it.
