I am an aspiring artist from San Antonio, Texas. I work in 2D and 3D mediums and I enjoy using multiple media to expand my concepts. I am currently enrolled at Clark High School, I am scheduled for graduating in spring of 2024 and I am currently enrolled in the UTSA-PaCE Teen Studio Intensive program. My work has shown in Say Si WE ARE NOW exhibition 2022, Dock Space Gallery Red and Blue Self Portraits 2023, and at the Santikos Gallery in the UTSA-PaCE Teen Studio Intensive program End of the Year exhibition 2023. I also contribute to and participate in community murals for example; Community Paint Day at Centro de Artes Gallery for Sandra Gonzalez and SACA’s 63rd community mural with Diana Rocha and Raisa Melendez. I’ve received a Certificate of Achievement for putting extended volunteer hours into the mural and currently working as a lead artist for their Martin Luther King Jr. Parade Banner in 2024. I thrive to be in the art community and further pursue my passion in the future.

Artist Statement of Work

Tell us about your work (style, approach, philosophy, subject and/or theme):

When I was growing up I was the only child with curly hair in my family and one of the most personal things that I did was learn how to care for and treat my hair. I find it sacred to use my hair as an inspiration. In my work I consider the use of hair in femininity to relate the compelling passion women with every type of hair have. To do this I use variations of media as I am not tied to one media disrupting the creation of adherence with 2D and 3D pieces. I render objects with details such as lines and texture that resemble hair.
