Yolix Luna Yolix is an accomplished artist originally from Monterrey, Mexico and has resided in San Antonio,TX since 1978. She is self-trained artist who draws inspiration from her Mexican heritage and the life experiences she collects through her family and worldwide travel. “The family where I grew up stimulated my creativity and influenced my choice for art. Around me each object represented raw materials that I could transform, renovate, paint or restore. In my sight and touch everything evoked aesthetics and beauty. Today, my paintings are relevant in my life because through them I have been able to capture my thoughts, emotions and memories. They also represent a personal effort to share my Mexican traditions.”
