43rd Annual Dia de los Muertos (virtual) Exhibit

Join us Monday November 2, 2020 in our Facebook page for a virtual tour of cultural traditions, history, and an artistic celebration including: Altars by local artists Don Nuñez, Ana Laura Hernandez, and Liz Hernandez; Artwork by Victor Tello, Esther Guajardo, Noe Garza, Angelica Mayorga, Antonio Garcia, Alicia Galvan, Raul Servin, Israel Rico, Alexandra Nelipa, Cordelia Rios, Lupe “Spike” Muñoz, Angelina Pliego, and more! The program will include highlights and personal stories by the artists and will conclude with a virtual concert with Tallercito de Son.

Centro Cultural Aztlan is proud to present Cultural Expressions a series of community-based events that promote the work of Chican@/Latin@ artists. Through this series of visual art exhibitions, community discussions, literary events, and performances, Centro Cultural Aztlan empowers artists to create and exhibit their work and reach new audiences.

COVID-19 has greatly impacted the work we do here at Centro Cultural Aztlan, and we have had to adapt quickly! The Cultural Expressions series will allow us to continue engaging the artistas de Aztlan who were scheduled to participate in exhibitions that were canceled due to Covid-19. We are taking steps to continue to bring valuable programming to the community via digital platforms through Facebook, YouTube and our website.

Since the closure of our gallery, many artists do not have the means—or place—to exhibit and sell their works. The Cultural Expressions series will help highlight their stories and their art, while making our Gallery available to our comunidad virtually.

EXHIBIT DURATION: November 2nd – November 16th, 2020

EXHIBIT FORMAT: Virtual, Pre-recorded video and live concert to be posted on Facebook, YouTube, and our website available 24/7. Gallery Hours are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
