A German Requiem - San Antonio Mastersingers

As part of the Chapel of the Incarnate Word 2018-2019 Concert Series, the San Antonio Mastersingers present Johannes Brahmss Ein deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem). The performance employs Brahms’ own piano four-hand arrangement that is not merely a reduction of the orchestral material. Through research into those original materials, the Mastersingers recreate the intent of Brahms in presenting his human Requiem as it was heard in English in the home of Sir William and Lady Thompson, Wimpole St., London, 1871.
