In collaboration with Sala Diaz, artist and poet Clemonce Heard returns to San Antonio during National Poetry Month to present a special evening featuring his recently published poetry collection, Tragic City.
In collaboration with Sala Diaz, artist and poet Clemonce Heard returns to San Antonio during National Poetry Month to present a special evening featuring his recently published poetry collection, Tragic City. Heard is the winner of the 2020 Anhinga Robert Dana Prize selected by Major Jackson. Tragic City, published by Anhinga Press, investigates the events of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
In 2021, Heard was a resident artist at Casa Chuck at Sala Diaz.

General admission tickets are $50. Each ticket purchase includes a copy of Clemonce Heard's Tragic City and complimentary food and drink. All ticket proceeds equally benefit Blue Star Contemporary and Sala Diaz.
