Actors Core 2021

We are gearing up to begin the next Actors Core Saturday March 6th at 1pm.  The first phase of the program with consist of fleshing out: super objectives, tactics, needs, and many more important tools in building a character.  We will do in depth scene study and students will need to find time to rehearse with scene partners and be prepared to perform the scenes before the class.  In the midst of phase 1, there will also be a stage combat course, where students will learn the basics of fight choreography, eventually adding dialogue to a ‘staged confrontation”.

There will be two Guest Speakers this year via Zoom.  Our first guest speaker will be Los Angeles based professional actor, producer, and casting director Mr. Eddie Padilla.  Mr. Padilla will share some of his real world in experiences in the industry, and there will be a Q & A, where students will be able to ask questions and get real world answers.

The second Guest Speaker will be Nika Khitrova, a Russian born transplant, now Los Angeles based, Ms. Khitrova has years of experience on both sides of the “pond” and will be happy to share her story of becoming a SAG member, and the differences between Non-Union and Union work.

Phase II of Actors Core will consist of a real world casting experience.  Members of Core will have the opportunity to audition for specifically tailored scripts— submitted by Texas screenwriters — the auditions will consist of the initial video submission followed by in person callbacks.

Phase III – Production.  From the initial first table read to rehearsal to on location filming.  Members of Core will receive first hand knowledge of what means to report to set “camera ready”!
