The San Antonio Bead Society hosts BlingFest, “a celebration of adornment,” Saturday, Sept. 17, and Sunday, Sept. 18, at the San Antonio Garden Center, 3310 N. New Braunfels Ave. The event features a market with purveyors of beads and jewelry-making materials as well as artisan makers of jewelry and more. New Braunfels Ave. The event features a market with purveyors of beads and jewelry-making materials as well as artisan makers of jewelry and more. Artisan mediums include pearls and gemstones, sterling silver, lamp-work glass, enamel, polymer clay, seed beads, fiber and more. Other activities include artisan demonstrations and a “make-and-take” area that will provide attendees the opportunity to try their hand at making beaded jewelry (free for children, $5 for adults). Promotional “swag bags” will be given to the first 150 attendees each day. Parking and admission are free. Hours: Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
