Brentano String Quartet with Dawn Upshaw

The San Antonio Chamber Music Society kicks off its 76th season with a dazzling performance featuring the Brentano String Quartet in collaboration with soprano, Dawn Upshaw. In this performance, one of the country’s top chamber music groups will join forces with one of America’s most well–loved singers.

This concert will feature “Two Madrigals” by Gesualdo, arranged for string quartet by the Brentano, and Haydn’s Quartet in C-Major, Op. 20, No. 2; both of these pieces will be performed by the Brentano Quartet alone.  For the last two pieces, the Quartet will be joined by Ms. Upshaw and together they will perform “Il Tramonto” by Respighi and Schoenberg’s String Quartet No. 2.
