Celebrate Poetry for Kids

San Antonio Poet and Children’s Author Diane Gonzales Bertrand celebrates April’s National Poetry Month with a signing of her bilingual collection of poems The Taco Magician/El Mago de los tacos (Piñata Books, 2019) at The Twig Book Store Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 1:30-3:00 pm.  This original collection of poems was illustrated by San Antonio artist Carolyn Dee Flores. The words and pictures invite children to celebrate everyday experiences and special feelings about family, food, and fun times with friends and pets. The poems inspire children to write their own verse, catching their important moments on the page.

The “flip” book is a paperback collection with poems in English in one direction and poems translated into Spanish in another direction.
