Celebrating Aline Carter Texas Poet Laureate 1947-1949

This is a unique cultural event benefiting Voices de la Luna, San Antonio’s premiere literary journal honoring Aline Carter (1892-1972), Texas State Poet Laureate from 1947-1949 and San Antonio humanitarian. Two current Poets Laureate, Texas State Poet Laureate Carol Coffee Reposa and San Antonio Poet Laureate Octavio Quintanilla, will read from their own works and Marlene Carter Lawson will be reading from her grandmother’s published works.

Wine and hors-oeuvres will be served and tours of the Maverick-Carter mansion will be available. Limited free parking will be available at the St. Marks Episcopal Chruch parking lot across Jefferson, 315 Pecan St.
