Conversation with local Chef, Joel “Tatú” Herrera

Chef Joel “Tatú” Herrera, the South San Antonio native along with his wife, launched Folklores Coffee House in 2018 and opened a second location in July 2020. Chef Tatúhas become a “hometown hero” during this pandemic, giving back to his community through service and leadership. He and his crew have delivered meals to hundreds of people and have raised thousands of dollars for the community. Chef Tatúis a graduate of the Culinary Arts Institute of San Antonio, featured as an online chef on KSAT, caterer, a participant in Fiesta’s Taste of the Republic, and winner of San Antonio’s Magazine Best of the City 2020 for Best Chef.
