Cinco Artistas: 5 Artists, 5 Questions, 5 Works of ArtCentro Cultural Aztlan is proud to present Cultural Expressions a series of community-based events that promote the work of Chican@/Latin@ artists. Through this series of visual art exhibitions, community discussions, literary events, and performances, Centro Cultural Aztlan empowers artists to create and exhibit their work and reach new audiences.
The introduction of this series begins with a virtual exhibition entitled Cinco Artistas: 5 Artists, 5 Questions, 5 Works of Art. Please join us via Facebook on Friday, September 4, 2020, at 6:00pm.
Featured Artists: Antonio Garcia, Angelica Mayorga, Noe Gonzalez Garza, Sarah Shore, and Albert Garcia.
Note: All works of art will be available for sale, please contact Centro Aztlan for purchasing options.
COVID-19 has greatly impacted the work we do here at Centro Cultural Aztlan, and we have had to adapt quickly! The Cultural Expressions series will allow us to continue engaging the artistas de Aztlan who were scheduled to participate in exhibitions that were canceled due to Covid-19. We are taking steps to continue to bring valuable programming to the community via digital platforms through Facebook, YouTube and our website.
Since the closure of our gallery, many artists do not have the means—or place—to exhibit and sell their works. The Cultural Expressions series will help highlight their stories and their art, while making our Gallery available to our comunidad virtually.
EXHIBIT DURATION: September 4th – September 18th, 2020
EXHIBIT FORMAT: Virtual, Pre-recorded video to be posted on Facebook, YouTube, and our website available 24/7. Gallery Hours are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. (Video Recording Length: 21.3 minutes)
