The City of San Antonio World Heritage Office and its partners will celebrate the Day of the Dead with its sixth annual, “Día de los Muertos: Celebrando las Misiones,” on Saturday, October 28, 2023. The event will begin at 3 p.m. at Mission San Jose, 6701 San Jose Dr., and will continue from 4-10 p.m. at Mission Marquee Plaza, 3100 Roosevelt Ave.
“Día de los Muertos: Celebrando las Misiones” will honor the legacy of the descendants of San Antonio’s historic Missions and engage the nearby community and several generations of family members who will share their family histories and memories with activities the entire community can witness and take part in. The event is free and open to the public.
The community is invited to contribute photos to honor past loved ones, family, and friends to our remembrance tribute at Mission Marquee Plaza. A remembrance slideshow will be created and displayed on the big screen during the Dia de los Muertos event.
We encourage the community to also bring copies of the photos to contribute to the community altars that will be on the stage during the event.
