Diwali SA Festival of Lights

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is one of the most important festivals in India, celebrating the triumph of light over darkness. The festival is an annual homecoming for families and communities celebrated across India and South Asia. With exquisite decorated walkways and common areas, adorned with thousands of colorful lights, music and the mouthwatering scents of delicious Indian food filling the air, Hemisfair Park is transformed into a microcosm of India. This year’s event includes a river parade, music and dance performances representing traditions from different Indian states, dance performances by dance teams from universities across Texas, a DJ dance party, an Indian Bazaar, henna stations, sari and turban wrapping, Indian food, an illuminated drone show, fireworks and more. The end result will be a tantalizing feast for the senses for all who attend!
