Though working in different mediums, Yeager and Pierucci share an intuitive approach to movement and form, celebrating the beauty found in transformation. Their practices intersect through a shared sensitivity to process, revealing abstraction not as a departure from nature but as another way of experiencing it. While Yeager captures movement through the immediacy of paint and her signature wet-into-wet technique, Pierucci creates organic forms through sculptural repetition and layered materials. Together, their works invite viewers to explore the quiet dialogue between painting and sculpture, spontaneity and structure, and permanence and transformation. For more than a decade, Sydney Yeager has developed a distinctive painting practice defined by expressive oil brushwork on raw or lightly washed linen. Working alla prima, or wet-into-wet, she embraces spontaneity, capturing fleeting moments of movement while preserving the delicate balance between intention and instinct. The resulting paintings possess a remarkable sense of atmosphere, balancing energetic movement with quiet restraint, revealing an elegant tension between untouched linen and richly layered paint. Caprice Pierucci creates sculptural wall works that transform wood into rhythmic, organic compositions inspired by the natural world and the passage of time. Influenced by the pioneering fiber art practice of her mother, she draws upon patterns found in erosion, geological formations, weathered surfaces, and reclaimed materials to create works that are both tactile and meditative. Through flowing lines and carefully constructed forms, Pierucci’s work reflects on permanence and impermanence, inviting viewers to consider beauty as something shaped through time, memory, and experience.
