July's Second Saturday at Dock Space Gallery presents Joe Barrington

Born and raised in Texas by a welder, Joe Barrington has been wearing a welder’s hood since he was a toddler. Though his commission work generally features larger than life Texan themes, the work Joe is showing at Dock Space Gallery during July and August speaks more of man’s place in his environment. This work is almost entirely crafted out of recycled, reclaimed, and found objects. Ravens are often messengers and this show includes these playful birds sporting feathers made from blown out tires discarded along the highways. Experience the weight and the whimsy of Joe Barrington’s sculptures at the opening Saturday, July 8th from 6-9 pm during the Second Saturday Artwalk in the Lone Star Art District.
