Music and Poetry in Concert & Poetry Reading

This event celebrates the lyricism of poetry, by featuring eight Art Songs: poems by beloved American poets put to music.   The Art Songs will be sung by acclaimed soprano Flicka Rahn and accompanied by pianist Dr. Ruth Friedberg.  The event serves as a fundraiser for the The Ecumenical Center's Therapeutic Arts Institute of South Texas, and includes a poetry reading given by participants of a monthly Poetry Circle.
