The audience is invited to explore Carlos Simon’s transcendent reimagination of Be Still and Know, Arvo Pärt’s mesmerizing Fratres, and movements from The Clearing and the Forest – a multisensory work exploring landscape, migration, and refuge by award-winning composer and multimedia artist Scott Ordway. Works by Gabriela Ortiz and Astor Piazzolla highlight music’s ability to capture the color of movement or the play of light and color in sound and Elegy for those we lost by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Aaron Jay Kernis wraps the listener into its memorial to victims of COVID-19.
