Music & Medicine: Chopin and Resilience

Richard Kogan, M.D., a Harvard-trained psychiatrist and Juilliard-trained concert pianist, is renowned for his piano concert-lectures exploring the influence of mental illness and other psychological factors on the creative output of famous composers. In this concert-lecture, Dr. Kogan focuses on how Frédéric Chopin responded to extreme psychological challenges through constructive application of his musical genius. This free event will be preceded by a catered reception at 6 p.m. It is part of the Ewing Halsell Distinguished Lecture series at UT Health San Antonio.
