Poetry and the Engaged Citizen

Please join the English Literature and Language Department at St. Mary’s University and the San Antonio Fulbright Chapter for Poetry & the Engaged Citizen, April 9, 2024, Tuesday, from 6:30-8:00 p.m., in the Quad Amphitheater on campus. This celebration of poetry and civic action features student, alumni, faculty, and staff poets.Voter registration will be available. StMU alum Eddie Vega,Taco Poet and Tricentennial Poet of San Antonio, will emcee this event and read from his new work Somos Nopales. Alex Salinas, also an StMU alum, will read from his new work Trash Poems, along with children’s author and poet Diane Gonzales Bertrand. Light refreshments will be provided by the SA Fulbright Chapter, with music by StMU student musicians. Free and open to the community.We look forward to seeing you!
