This sculpture garden exhibit is to celebrate the Autochthonous who are are the indigenous, or Autóctono in spanish. Sculptures will be kinetic and organic anthropomorphic and plant-like shapes to indicate life with a connection to the earth.
For this project, I am creating a one-ton 8'-tall steel and concrete kinetic sculpture as part of a larger long-term project. This human-like object will move with the slightest wind or when touched by a visitor. This sculpture will be part of a colorful tactile experience for the viewer/participant. This is the survivor, the native, the indigenous, The Autochthon.
