Join the Witte Museum as Dr. Peter Flaig discusses the everyday life at remote field camps in Antarctica and Arctic Alaska. Hear about the complex logistics necessary to access these camps, collect samples, and ship specimens.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Dr. Peter Flaig is a Research Scientist and Sedimentologist-Stratigrapher at the Bureau of Economic Geology, University of Texas at Austin. His job includes examining deposits such as those that surround dinosaur bones, as well as the plants and other animals found alongside them. His goal is to help other scientists reconstruct ancient, deep-time environments.
