Sonido Barroco: A Jewish Baroque Composers Concert

Join us at the J for a special concert featuring the music of Jewish Baroque Composers, plus selections from Handel’s “Esther.” The concert will feature Hannah McGinty, Soprano and Jeffrey Jones-Ragona, Tenor.

Founded in 2017 by Hector Serna (Viola) and Kristin Hayes (Recorder/Transverse Flute), Sonido Barroco performs Baroque music on period instruments in a historically informed manner. The goal is to attempt to recreate what music may have sounded like during the time it was written. Sonido Barroco is San Antonio’s only full time Period Instrument Ensemble, and is comprised of musicians from the Central Texas/San Antonio area.
