The Birthday Party by Harold Pinter

St. Mary’s University Theatre presents, “The Birthday Party” by Harold Pinter and directed by George Kendall.

Harold Pinter (1930-2008), a Nobel Prize for Literature winner, is considered one of the most influential playwrights of the 20th and 21st centuries. This play is an example of Pinter’s “comedy of menace” in which every day. Simple activities hold hidden danger. In 1958 he wrote, “There are no hard distinctions between what is real and what is unreal, nor between what is true and what is false. A thing is not necessarily either true or false; it can be both true and false.”
