THE EYES OF GHANA
(Documentary • 2025 • 90 Minutes • Ghana)
Film Synopsis
During the waning years of British rule, Chris Hesse is tasked with becoming Ghanaian leader
Kwame Nkrumah’s personal cinematographer. Once a young filmmaker entrusted with recording
the tumultuous march to sovereignty, the 93-year-old looks to pass his legacy, and a hidden,
precious archive, to a new generation.
Executive produced by Barack and Michelle Obama, the film showcases a fascinating chapter in
Ghana’s history and is a love letter to the nation’s cinema. -Brandon Harrison
