Quenedit Dance Theatre (QDT) will perform The Nutcracker Ballet on Saturday, December 14, 2019, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 15, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at the Lila Cockrell Theatre. This will be the sixth annual production of The Nutcracker Ballet by QDT since the company was founded in May 2014 by Artistic Directors, Catalina Garza and Ernesto Quenedit, a former principal dancer with the National Ballet of Cuba.
QDT Company members, along with dancers from Quenedit Ballet School and the San Antonio community, are also excited to once again perform with dancers from Formento Artistico Cordobes, Cordoba, Veracruz and Escuela Superior de Música y Danza, Monterrey, Mexico. This is the second year QDT has partnered with Formento Artistico Cordobes, Cordoba, Veracruz, and the sixth year QDT has partnered with Escuela Superior de Música y Danza, Monterrey, Mexico.
In addition to providing young dancers the opportunity to perform in a professional environment, QDT will continue its outreach of providing complementary tickets to underprivileged children throughout San Antonio and neighboring communities. We are excited that we have been able to donate more than 600 tickets to our past performances.

About Quenedit Dance Theatre
Quenedit Dance Theatre is a non-profit, pre-professional youth dance company providing performance opportunities in dance and giving support to dancers who would otherwise not be able to participate in a youth dance company or other dance activities. Emphasis is placed on enabling dancers to gain an appreciation for dance as it relates to the individual and the community. QDT formed its home in San Antonio, TX with the company’s official school, Quenedit Ballet School.

Quenedit Ballet School was formed in 2010 by Artistic Directors Ernesto Quenedit and Catalina Garza. Mr. Quenedit and Ms. Garza are passionate and dedicated teachers who enjoy sharing their love of dance with their students. They draw on their combined twenty years of professional, international dance careers and more than twenty years of teaching experience to create a program that benefits all students. The Quenedit Ballet School offers year round, professional level dance training with an emphasis on student growth and development.
