UIW’s Light the Way Holiday Festival is set for Saturday, Nov. 23. UIW’s Light the Way Holiday Festival is set for Saturday, Nov. 23. The 2019 event, sponsored by H-E-B, is the kick off the holiday season and features live performances and a Holiday Shoppe with 50 local vendors. Families will enjoy the Kids’ Corner with activities from The DoSeum, San Antonio Plastic Bricks and Andretti Indoor Karting & Games. Santa will make an appearance and be available for selfies. Festivities begin at 3 p.m., holiday lights turn on at 6:15 p.m. and concludes with a fireworks finale at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free. Limited parking is available on the UIW campus and at the AT&T lot across campus on Hildebrand for $10. Those seeking to park on campus may only enter through the gate at Hwy 281. All other gates will be closed to vehicle traffic.
