World music ensemble Viatorum brings new, original music with a traditional Mediterranean sound to San Antonio on December 12 at the UTSA Southwest Campus’s Coates Chapel.
Viatorum (a Latin word that means “Travelers”) is a world/classical ensemble largely staffed by UTSA faculty musicians that plays traditional music from around the Mediterranean, but with a special focus on original music (featured works composed by Ethan Wickman, Andrew Bergmann, guitarist Berk Agar). Instrumentation is flute, guitar, oud (Turkish/Arabic lute), bass, and percussion. The group will also be joined by a cellist on this program.
