Virtual Black History Tour: Downtown San Antonio, TX

Join us Sunday September 12 for our Virtual Black History tour highlighting some of downtown San Antonio’s most historic African-American landmarks and locations. This experience is being brought to you by Melaneyes Media, the producers of “Walk on the River: A Black History of the Alamo City.”

When people think about downtown San Antonio, most envision the Riverwalk or the Alamo. They don’t necessarily think African-American history. But there are a significant number of Black historical landmarks and locations in the heart of the city and a rich cultural history that is often unknown or overlooked.

Contrary to popular belief, Blacks are not and have not been fully relegated to the Eastside of town.
