Workshop “Handling Holy Things: Black Religious Preservation and Stewardship”

This multi-faith workshop invites faith leaders to explore the history of Black religion in America and the work of the Center for the Study of African American Religious Life at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington, D.C. In addition, attendees will learn about practical tools and resources for preservation and archiving of religious ephemera in their local houses of worship. This event is presented by the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture in association with the Pew Research Center. Parking available in Lot 4 and Lot 12. Limited seating is available, and pre-registration is REQUIRED to attend.

Location: St. Philip’s College 1801 Martin Luther King Dr. (Inside the Turbon Student Center). The workshop will be held in the Sutton Learning Center Building.
