Camerata San Antonio

Camerata San Antonio

Camerata San Antonio is the premier professional chamber music ensemble in San Antonio and the growing Texas Hill Country.  Dedicated to presenting chamber music of the highest caliber to our many and diverse classical music-loving audiences, we are equally committed to providing educational concerts and musical enrichments to San Antonio’s public school students.  Established in 2003 by San Antonio Symphony Principal Cellist Kenneth E. Freudigman and Assistant Principal Violist Emily Watkins Freudigman, Camerata has grown over seven seasons into an exciting artistic venue for local and visiting musicians and a valued musical resource for audiences – including our school-based audiences.  Reviewers have been consistent in their high praise.  The San Antonio Express-News, for example, named our performance of Schubert’s String Quintet the “Best of Classical 2004” and our performance of Elizabeth Brown’s Migration for shakuhachi and string trio was named “Best of Classical 2006.” Fanfare Magazine says of our debut CD Salon Buenos Aires: Music by Miguel del Aguila (Bridge 9302) that “Camerata San Antonio’s performances are as perfect as any composer could wish for.” Students, teachers and parents alike have been equally enthusiastic responders to our school-based educational programs. Camerata San Antonio performs its chamber music series at Christ Episcopal Church in San Antonio and also at Kerrville’s First Presbyterian Church and Boerne’s First United Methodist Church. T
