San Antonio Tangueros is a registered 501c(3) not for profit organization dedicated to preserving, educating, and promoting the art, culture and music of the traditional Argentine Tango.

We approach this mission through hosting traditional dance gatherings (Milongas), informal practice sessions (Practicas) and learning opportunity workshops showcasing both local and guest instructors.  The majority of instructors also offer private and semi private lessons for those who would rather learn in a more personalized setting.

We purposely look to spread out our events across the metropolitan San Antonio area.  Currently we hold events on the near North Side (I-410 and Broadway),  Beacon Hill (Blanco Road south of Hildebrandt), and most recently, Southtown (South Flores).  We will continue to look for appropriate venues in our commitment to bring Argentine Tango to the entire community.  We also co-host events with the Austin and Houston Tango communities known as the Texas Tango Road Trip, held in the Schulenberg, TX area.

We strive to make out events informal, joyful, and open to all who have an interest, regardless of prior knowledge or experience.  We teach and demonstrate two roles – leader and follower – and allow each person to learn the role they prefer (or both)!

We have an active Community Outreach program (Tango for Wellness) to take Tango to traditionally under served populations that cannot travel to more traditional events or may have mobility challenges.
