Sonido Barroco San Antonio

Sonido Barroco’s mission as an ensemble is to provide historically informed and educational performances of early music on period instruments to San Antonio, Texas and surrounding areas. We aim to inspire young musicians, ignite a love of early music, and ensure the survival of period instrument ensembles into the future. Early music is an underrepresented art form and an innovative practice with its purpose being to reinvigorate long forgotten pieces with new perspectives. We believe that the study of early music can bridge cross-cultural boundaries as we explore the past in the context of the present. Sonido Barroco strives to make this music accessible to the whole San Antonio community regardless of any economic, social, or cultural barriers.
