Westside Sound Oral History Project

The Westside Sound Oral History Project aims to preserve and document the Texas Chicana/o Sound in San Antonio. We feature oral histories from musicians, dancers, and fans focusing on the West Side Sound and surrounding San Antonio communities to highlight the genre’s origins, evolution, and impact on the city’s cultural landscape. This project not only preserves this valuable history but also seeks to educate the public through school curricula, traveling exhibits, multimedia presentations, and interviews.
