Leticia Huerta is a native San Antonian that earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting in 1991 at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, a BFA in Painting at UTSA in 1985, and a BA in Biology from St. Mary’s University in 1976. Huerta has exhibited locally, nationally, and internationally.  Her work has been collected by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Mexic-Arte Museum, Austin; San Antonio Museum of Art; Meadows Museum, Dallas; among others. Huerta has attended residencies at the McColl Center for the Arts in Charlotte, North Carolina, Coronado Studio in Austin, Texas, and Self Help Graphics in Los Angeles. Huerta has worked on numerous public art projects, involving the community, design teams and fabricators.  Public art works completed include transit stations, streetscapes, bridges and park projects. Her work is located throughout Texas, California, Arizona and North Carolina.  Huerta’s inspiration has always been about the environment which stems from her study of Biology.
