Carly Garza is a multidisciplinary artist from San Antonio who uses drawing, painting, and fiber art to investigate femininity, self-image, and personal habits and patterns, and the body through a feminist lens. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Garza has been focusing on mental health and rest as important parts of the creative process, and is now creating artwork about the importance of slowing down.

Garza graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA in 2016. She has exhibited work at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Jack Straw Cultural Center in Seattle, as well as Clamplight, Creative Eye, Jump Start Performance Co., and Artpace in San Antonio. She participated in San Antonio's 2022 CAM Perennial show titled "Interior Realities," and exhibited her fabric installation work alongside many other exceptional local artists at Southwest School of Art. Garza is a recipient of a 2021 Luminaria Working Artist Grant and a 2022 FOCO Artist Studio Residency at Brick Gallery in the Blue Star Arts Complex. She used this residency to develop the beginnings of a new series focused on the importance of rest.
