Angelica Sanchez is a Puerto Rican visual artist living in San Antonio, Texas. She is a teaching artist at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts and the San Antonio Independent School District. She studied at La Escuela De Artes Plasticas in San Juan, Puerto Rico and graduated from St. Philip’s College with an Associate’s Degree in Digital Art and Media. She is currently completing her B.A. in Art at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She has been creating murals and art installations throughout Texas and Puerto Rico for over 17 years. She has participated in and hosted several international Graffiti and Street Art events including Meeting of Styles, Risk It All Paint Jam, and CUP (Content Under Pressure) Vol. 1 & 2 in San Antonio, Texas. Angelica was the recipient of the 2023 Mural Art & Consulting’s Graffiti Arts Scholarship.

Living in San Antonio, Angelica’s art touches on the reality of being part of the Puerto Rican diaspora as an Army Brat. She creates art that explores the duality of what it means to live as an “American” as part of the Puerto Rican diaspora while delving into the significance of being a member of America’s oldest colony. She works with middle and high school students and helps them explore the political and cultural subculture of Street Art and Graffiti.
