MELISSA MARTINEZ

American, born in San Antonio, Texas, 1980.

A San Antonio native, she grew up mainly in the theatre. She also has film, commercial segment, voice over projects and playwriting in her body of work. She has studied under the direction of Jade Esteban Estrada and is a masterclass alumna.  Her recent notable stage appearances are as follows: "Hope and Camaradas" by Mono Aguilar, "Un Nuevo Capitulo" by Patricia Zamora, "Las Nuevas Tamaleras" by Alicia Mena, "Chato's Bridge" by Mono Aguilar, "Screaming Into the Void: Facing the Storm" Jumpstart Co. Theatre Festival '23, "Screaming Into the Void: Dear Earth and River Spirit" Jumpstart Co. Theatre Festival '24 (Yoli, Marisol, Narrator, Ensemble). She also has performed as a stage directions reader and made her directorial debut in with “The Politics of Modern Love”, the Overtime Theatre’s Playwright’s Development Series. 

Current contract: "Tamales for the Holidays" a full length play about grief and memory by C.M. Bratton. Produced by Teatro Audaz
