Abel Duran Jr. is a Hispanic American artist; raised in the Rio Grande Valley and is now residing in San Antonio, TX. Influenced by cultural Mexican heritage & contemporary artist, Duran maintains a studio practice where he creates 2D & 3D pieces from oil paint, graphite & charcoal, clay, and wood. Known for his draftsmanship and conventionalism, his art work reflects his perception of human sociology. A UTSA graduate with his Bachelor’s Degree in Art, he strives to strengthen communities and create connections to progress his endeavors.

Abel Duran has helped plan and create the SA Zoo murals (March 2020 - April 2021), Worked with You Name It Specialties to create a large oil painting of the San Antonio Skyline (Nov. 2022- Feb. 2023). Currently he receives & creates commission work and displays his art in local galleries.
