Jen is a contemporary artist and color-enthusiast, using art and energy as a catalyst for positive change. Based out of her home studio in San Antonio, her mission is to bring joy and happiness to others through original artwork, vibrant murals, art-boxes and teaching workshops at local hospitals. In her childhood, she spent most afternoons and summers surrounded with her grandmother's art and guidance to explore all media types-- she was an art teacher and artist herself, which played a large part in Jen pursuing art. She has a minor degree in graphic design, but is largely self-taught, considering herself a student of life: always learning, exploring and evolving, just like her art.

After working in the advertising field post college, she became an educator, teaching both first grade students and nightly art classes. After having two children in San Antonio, she decided to start her own art business, Studio Jen Hughes, where she focuses on painting, teaching and creating engaging art products. Along with art, she has a passion for serving children in need, offering art and time whenever possible, through involvement with painting a large school mural, creating colorful schoolyard art, building and sustaining an on-going school garden, and serving in organizations such as SnackPak4Kids, Blueprint Ministries, The Children's Hunger Fund and The Strong Foundation.
