Werito does it all. His diverse and dynamic skill set coupled with years of experience, amplified by the vibrant Chicano culture of San Antonio, enables Werito to produce truly distinct, high-caliber and relevant musical works and performances. Werito is the artistic moniker of Miguel Jaime Guzman, a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, performer, composer, studio musician, DJ & producer. Asserting more than 13 years as a professional, Guzman’s musical education ranges from the foundational and continued performance of mariachi music with Mariachi Los Galleros de San Antonio, classical violin and vocal instruction at the university level, to self taught and community based learning in the independent artist and music community of San Antonio. Guzman has had the privilege of accompanying tenor Placido Domingo, singing the National Anthem at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and recording for Grammy nominated records and artists. In 2019, under a new artistic vision, Guzman independently released his first recording under the Werito name, the EP “Polarsteriod”, later followed by 2021’s genre exploring record “Bruises on the Fruit”, and 2022’s EP “Lo Intenté”. Werito has since composed scores for short films, garnered credits as a writer and producer for local artists, formed acclaimed Indie-Tejano group, Los Juanos, and continues to perform, write and expand into new artistic territory.
